ತಿರು ತಿರುಗಿ ತಿರುಗಣಿ ಹಬ್ಬುತಿದೆ ಸುರುಳಿ
ಗಿಡುಗಕ್ಕೆ ಕೇಳಿಸದು ಗಾರುಡಿಯ ದನಿ
ಲೋಕ ಚೆಲ್ಲಾಪಿಲ್ಲಿ; ಜಾರುತಿದೆ ನಡುಬಿಂದು,
ಜಗದ ಮೇಲೀಗ ಅರಾಜಕತೆಯದೆ ಸವಾರಿ,
ನಿಸ್ತೇಜ ನೆತ್ತರ ಹೊಳೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ, ಹರಿಯುತಿದೆ ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ
ಮುಗ್ಧತೆಯ ಸಡಗರ ಸೋರಿ ನೆಲ ಕಚ್ಚಿದೆ,
ಸಜ್ಜನರ ಎಲ್ಲ ಮನೋನಿಶ್ಚಯವೋ ಬರಿದು,
ದುರುಳರೋ ಭಾವೋದ್ವೇಗದ ಪರವಶತೆಯಲ್ಲಿಹರು.

ಹೊಸ ತಿಳಿವಿಗೆ ಕಾಲವಿದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯ,
ಹೊಸ ಅವತಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಇದೇ ಖಂಡಿತ.
ಹೊಸ ಅವತಾರ ಬರುತಲಿದೆ! ಎಂಬ ಶಬ್ದ ಗುಡುಗಿದ್ದೇ
ದೂರದ ಮರುಳುಗಾಡಿನಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲೋ ಬೃಹದಾಕಾರದ
ನರನ ಮುಖ-ಸಿಂಹ ದೇಹ
ಕಾಲಜ್ಞಾನದ ನೆನಪಿಂದ ಪುಟಿದು
ಕಣ್ಣು ಕುಕ್ಕಿಸುತಿಲಿದೆ:
ಸೂರ್ಯಪ್ರಖರತೆಯ ಶೂನ್ಯ ನೋಟ,
ಭಾರದ ತೊಡೆಗಳ ನಿಧಾನ ನಡಿಗೆ,
ಉದ್ವಿಗ್ನ ಮರುಳುಗಾಡಿನ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಳ ನೆರಳು ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತ.
ಕಾವಳವು ಕವಿಯುತಿದೆ ಮತ್ತೆ,
ಜೀಕು ತೊಟ್ಟಿಲಿನಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ
ಕಲ್ಲು ನಿದ್ದೆಯ ಕಾಡಿ ಬಡಿದ ದುಸ್ವಪ್ನಗಳ ಕುರಿತು
ನನಗೀಗ ಅರಿವಾಗುತಿದೆ.
ತನ್ನ ಅವತಾರಕ್ಕೀಗ ತಕ್ಕ ಕಾಲವಿದೆಂದು
ಈ ದೈತ್ಯ ನರ ಪಶು ತೆವಳುತ್ತ
ನಡೆಯುತಿದೆಯೇ ಬೆತ್ಲಹೆಮ್ಮಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ?
